《體感異托邦》
"Somatosensory Heterotopia— Body Map Choreography Project"
"Somatosensory Heterotopia— Body Map Choreography Project" is premiered at 2019 Want to Dance Festival in Taipei, Taiwan. As an artist working on body and movement, the body itself is how I used to feel and accept messages. A choreographer is always working on thinking of "somatosensory" and finding how our bodies move. On the way of research, I found out that there is one specific moment that hits me. When I am in a foreign country, within a completely different atmosphere and environment, I can feel substantial differences and how the body changes because of the different atmosphere of the city and society. And beyond this feeling, I began to wonder how another city affects my body. How do I live here? Why is there a different feeling? And what are these feelings? Like the social space discourse proposed by Michel Foucault, we criticize and reconstruct our living space by the concept of "heterotopia", eliminate any original intention and value, and redefine the space. How do we imagine, recognize and feel the space and city in our lives? The atmosphere, characteristics, and activities of each region profoundly influence our lifestyle and physical actions. And what kind of body does this leads to? Is there any difference?
